Crude Oil Refining

Crude Oil Refining

At the heart of Atlantic Refinery’s operations is our state-of-the-art 2,000 barrels-per-day (bpd) modular crude oil refinery, a facility designed with efficiency, scalability, and sustainability in mind. This refinery is a key milestone in our mission to provide locally refined petroleum products that meet global standards.

The refinery produces essential fuels such as Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), Kerosene, and Naphtha—products that power homes, transportation, and industries. What sets our approach apart is not just production, but strategic distribution. We are in active collaboration with the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) and international stakeholders to ensure a consistent and secure supply chain, from feedstock to finished products.

As we continue to grow, our refining operations will expand into petrochemicals, contributing to industrial diversification and deepening Nigeria’s energy self-reliance.

Jetty Operations

Jetty & SBM Operations

Our strategically located commercial jetty, situated within the Brass Free Trade Zone, is built to accommodate vessels up to 25,000 DWT. This high-capacity marine terminal is crucial to our vision of building an integrated energy ecosystem, enabling seamless export and import of refined products and equipment.

The jetty reduces dependency on external ports and mitigates transportation delays, giving us unmatched control over logistics and delivery. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our refined products reach domestic and international markets swiftly and cost-effectively.

Looking ahead, Phase II of our infrastructure plan includes the development of Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) systems. These offshore loading facilities will extend our capacity to handle larger crude carriers, positioning Atlantic as a key transshipment hub for petroleum products across the Gulf of Guinea and beyond.

Power Generation

Power Generation

Atlantic Refinery’s energy strategy goes beyond oil—it includes providing reliable, clean power to fuel economic growth and social development. Our on-site 2MW embedded power plant, delivered in partnership with Caterpillar, supplies uninterrupted electricity to the refinery, the jetty, and the surrounding Brass community.

As part of our social investment commitment, over 1,000 households benefit from free, stable power—improving livelihoods, boosting local enterprise, and fostering community development. This initiative underscores our belief that energy access is a foundation for long-term prosperity.

With future plans to scale the facility to a 20MW capacity, we aim to serve not just Atlantic operations but also attract new industries and investors to the Atlantic Energy Park. Our power model is modular, renewable-ready, and positioned to redefine how industrial parks in Nigeria are powered.
